Terri Charlesworth

terri-charlesworthTerri CHARLESWORTH was a founding member of The West Australian Ballet in 1952. She later became its prima ballerina and assistant director.

She was the first Australian ballet dancer to be awarded the Ulanova Laureate at the International Dance Competition in Moscow in 1957.

Regarded as one of Australia's finest teachers, she has taught classical ballet for more than forty years in Australia and Internationally, arranging guest visits of Marika Besobrasova to Australia and Hong Kong many times.

In 1994 Terri was awarded the Order of Australia Medal and in 2006 the Citizen of the Year for Entertainment and the Arts.
